COUNTING MILLIGRAMS IS KEY
You may have read by now that CBD Sport Supplements can provide you with a number of benefits, but how do you start with CBD?
There are basically two ways how to take CBD. On or in your body. On your body is the easiest. Apply CBD topically by means of a cream, ointment, balm, oil or gel. You can do that as often as necessary. Athletes use CBD most to prevent or treat muscle and joint pain after training. Warming creams before training to prevent muscle soreness and cooling creams for the treatment of pain, bruises or impact spots after training. It gets more complicated when we talk about CBD in your body. CBD supplements can be taken in many ways. The most popular way is taking CBD oil drops under your tongue, but you can also swallow tablets, capsules or pills, or you eat or drink products that contain CBD and as a last option you can inhale CBD through vaping, smoking or through an inhaler device.
Every label on a CBD product must state the amount of CBD in milligrams, in addition to the other ingredients of course. This is generally quite clear with tablets and capsules. For example, the vegan gel capsules from PACHAMAMA contain 25Mg per capsule. The Hex tablets from CB.do contain 30Mg CBD. This also applies to the CBD products that you can eat or drink. A Rabbit Lifestyle drink contains 15Mg per can and a scoop of the Naturecan Whey Protein contains 25Mg CBD.
When taking CBD drops it gets a little more complicated. Many Dutch CBD manufacturers still use the ratio in % as an indication of the number of milligrams per bottle. Not that this is very complicated in itself, a 10Ml bottle with 10% CBD on it contains 1000Mg CBD. I am more a fan of brands that directly state the number of milligrams on the label like the Gaia Botanics Peppermint in the picture. That saves me from doing the math. Nevertheless, when taking CBD drops you cannot avoid doing a little math. How many drops come out of a bottle? And how many milligrams of CBD are in a drop?
All too complicated, in my opinion. Nowadays most CBD tincture brands have a dropper in the bottle with a size indication in milliliters. Or better from 0 to 1 Ml. In a bottle containing 30Ml with 1000 Mg of CBD, is a 33.3Mg per 1 Ml. At 0.5 Ml (half a dropper) that is 16.66Mg.
HOW MANY MILLIGRAMS OF CBD SHOULD I TAKE?
You're not going to be happy with a vague answer like "That varies per person". Nice, I hear you think, that doesn't help much. I'm going to make it a little clearer for you right now. Milligrams are KEY. So count the total number of milligrams of CBD that you put in your body every day. Because of all the feedback from the athletes of TEAM CBDSPORTS I know that CBD can start working for you from approximately 65 Mg daily. And that can go up to 100Mg or even higher. If you are still a rookie, start with 30Mg per day for the first three days and then go up to 50Mg to go to 65Mg or higher after the first week. Assuming you are an athlete who trains for an hour at least twice a week. What you put on your body doesn't count. This 65Mg I am describing now is what you take in your body.
IS ALL CBD THE SAME?
No! For starters, there is already a distinction between Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum and Isolate. In addition, there is also a difference in the so-called bioavailability of the products. Read both blogs! For example, what is absorbed by your oral mucosa (like drops and chewing gum) will be absorbed into your bloodstream faster than when the CBD molecules have to make the long journey through your digestive tract. Therefore, vary taking various products daily.
Taking myself as an example:
IN THE MORNING:
Vitality Boost 1000Mg drops - 1Ml - is 33.3 MG
Vitality Recover 1000Mg drops - 1Ml- is 33.3Mg
Pachamama vegan gel cap - is 25Mg
BEFORE GONG TO SLEEP:
CB.do .REST hex tablet - is 30Mg
That makes a total of 121.6 Mg per day. That is on the high side, but take in consideration that:
A I am a big guy weighing over 100Kg and
B I train three to four times a week quite intensive and heavy,
C I am 58 years old and
D I have two worn knees that hurt a lot without taking CBD and cause swelling too.
Before training I apply the Suppology Muscle Balm and the Pachamama Icy Roll On after my workout.
I hope to have made you a little wiser on how to take CBD in your daily routine. Still not quite sure? Please contact us and we will be happy to help you.
